Kayak Fuerteventura is owned and run by Jorge Echávarri Arce.
Born in Vitoria, North of Spain, his passion for outdoor sports began at the early age of 3, when he started skiing in the nearby Pyrenees with his family. His love for nature and wilderness probably began at this early age also.
Without doubt mountains and outdoors were his main passion until he discovered surfing at the age of 18 and became totally hooked. After 24 years, he is still surfing as much as he can.
Due to Jorge’s passion for Nature and Wildlife, he obtained an Environmental Technician degree. He would be very happy to inform you about all the interesting wildlife you will see during your sea kayaking and hiking trips. The ocean soon became as important as the mountains, and nowadays is his main office.
Jorge arrived in Fuerteventura in 2004 for a surfing trip, and never left the island working as a beach lifeguard for a few years before running Kayak Fuerteventura.
He has led sea kayaking trips since 2009 with Kayak Fuerteventura and has a perfect knowledge of local reefs, winds, swells and currents. He has also paddled in the UK, the Mediterranean and Cantabrian Sea, as well as white water on the Pyrenees. He has surfed in many countries around the world and still many more to come.

Stuart started paddling at the age of 15, doing it all from sea kayaking, white water, canoeing and wave ski, but it was when he chose to study Outdoor Education that he began to consider it as a full time career.
In May 2012, Stuart, along with a friend and his brother, set off from their hometown of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea in their sea kayaks. They turned left and kept going until they returned back 2,500 miles and 96 days later.
Stuart is the youngest sea kayaker to have circumnavigated Great Britain and part of the only team to have done it anti clockwise. He is a BCU Five Star Sea Kayak Leader, a BCU | UKCC Level Two Coach and a Celtic Paddles, Sea Kayaking UK and typhoon sponsored paddler.
